FIELDSTAR for Cultivation

FIELDSTAR's job planning and recording features coupled with DGPS  can provide significant productivity gains and fuel savings while cultivating. Linking the FIELDSTAR GPS to a lightbar guidance system aids steering and ensures the machine operates efficiently by eliminating under- and overlapping when working with wide implements.

Fieldstar software can also be used for job planning while the terminal will log data on work rates, tractor performance and other useful information.

Previous field scouting can be used to identify areas of field that need remedial treatments such as subsoiling. A variable treatment plan can then be used to work specific areas, saving the cost of cultivating the whole field unnecessarily.

Using lightbar guidance to steer the tractor will bring considerable savings and workrate improvements. A realistic 800mm (2ft 6in) overlap when working an 8m (26ft) wide cultivator represents a 10% loss in output. Over an entire season, working 1,000ha (2,500 acres) that represents 100ha (250 acres) of additional capacity. It also equates to a saving of more than 1,000 litres (222gals) of fuel.

Features and benefits

Cultivations to suit soil conditions
A Fieldstar yield map provides essential information about a field’s past performance.

Positioning and Guidance Operation
The positioning system works three modes to suit the work and conditions...

Performance data
FIELDSTAR’s automatic datalogger provides accurate record keeping for farm management purposes.

Transferable between equipment
FIELDSTAR and DGPS system components can be transferred between vehicles such as tractors and combines.
